Protecting ecosystems is the role of wildlife reserves. While some are designated as sanctuaries such as for the iconic species of Indian elephants, others reserves recognize areas as providing the infrastructure for a variety of native plants and animals.
Whether national parks, or wildlife trusts, these areas all have something in common – each utilizes multiple types of land management programs for the protection of local wildlife, such as Kangaroo Island in Australia.
