Western Philosophy

"Philosophy begins in wonder," said Plato, the great Greek philosopher. From the time of the ancient Greeks, fundamental questions were being asked about how we should conduct our lives. This exciting quest for enlightenment moved forward, gathering momentum through the centuries, as human beings struggled to understand our world through logic and reason.

Now, through logical analysis, some philosophers are moving away from what they regard as our "mythical childhood" and attempting to make sense of our world through empiricism combined with deductive analysis.
