Science Fiction Webzines

Anotherealm is Alive and Kicking, one of the relatively few surviving webzines which I reviewed over a year ago.

A trip back to some favorite familiar webzines yields some surprises and a shock!

Speculon is a professional rate zine which sees itself as a fundamental particle of SF - the speculon. Its self-appointed mission is to seek out distant corners of the genre, areas that the big magazines no longer address, or never have.

Commentary on the current state of SF/F webzines.

The Pedestal Magazine is a professional e-zine which publishes fiction of all sorts, including literary, experimental, science fiction, and fantasy. They state that they lean towards works that cross genres, works that do not readily fall into one specific category.

Ideomancer is an SF/F/H webzine which publishes a new story every week. The editor asks nothing but gritty realism combined with the exploration of the impossible.

A little bit of attitude and a lot of class make Outer Rim a great place to spend some time. Volunteer run, free of ads, Outer Rim is worth your time.

Quantum Muse not only amuses, it entertains. Quite an interesting visit for anyone looking for great stories and art, thoughtful editorials, and just a good time.

Dragonlaugh received kudos from Writer's Digest, but the content is so messed up, code-wise, that it's impossible to read. Perhaps later, they'll get their act together.

Digital Catapult, with its simple text layout, might be easy to overlook but that would be a mistake. Brilliant fiction makes this little zine worth your while.
