Russia historically began in Ukraine in the late 9th Century then spread North into Belorussia. In that area alone were/are some 75-90 distinct & seperate ethnological groups; Khazar, Slav, Hun, Goth, Circassian, Pecheneg, Tartar, Kozak, Bulgar, Magyars & Varengian Vikings, Mongols to name a few. Some 21 countries, 150+ ethnicities, as many or more languages & dialects and cuisines, and 50+ religions make up this vast land.
