A deregulation of the German labor market is overdue, but up to now Schröder's cabinet has done all the opposite. Chancellor Schröder, who has also taken his party's presidency, has now elaborated some interesting plans, but first he has to convince his own party officials. Meanwhile the opposition stands ready to take advantage from the coalition's difficulties. germany • schröder • joschka fischer • greens • spd
