Nestled at the foot of Mystical Mount Shasta is Mount Shasta City. Second in the series " Off the Beaten Track" Mount Shasta City offers good restaraunts, accomodation, and a myriad of outdoor activites all year round. Surrounded by the pine forest of Shasta Trinity National forest, Shasta City sits in the Shadow of the most magnificent mountain in the US. The valley and surrounding area, are renown for their scenic natural beauty, high mountain lakes, birds and wildlife and whitewater rivers. It is my favorite place to stop off the I-5.
