In the bathtub, on the border: A perspectival identity crisis (I of II)

I shot back to at least one afternoon in my adolescence when, soaking in the bathtub, I read through my hardcover edition of Linda Goodman’s (1968) Sun Signs and tried to determine whether she was really describing me in her classificatory system. Since I was born on the cusp, right in the borderlands between Virgo and Libra, it didn’t seem that I fit perfectly into one category or the other. It was important, I felt, because being one or the other could give me great insight into the future that lay ahead. Being neither, or both, just left me open to the unforeseen.
