Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
At the southern end of Puget Sound the Nisqually River exists along with Puget Sound to form an undisturbed estuary, the home of wildlife, birds and fish in a riparian forest surround of beauty nestled beside croplands and grasslands. The refuge was established to protect the delta and wildlife residents in 1974. It is one of the largest remaining undisturbed (for the most part) Washington State estuaries.

White River Massacre
