Her perspective echoes the words of many who have been stigmatized by others. Her wish is that those who interact with those diagnosed with mental illness will recognize this wake-up call to end stigma. Though seen through a glass darkly, this one-act, one-woman play hammers home the unfortunate stereotypes accompanying bipolar disorder. She touches on loneliness, forsaken dreams, relationships with family and friends, and the unforgettable injunctions that her bipolar is only a matter of willpower or not trying. Bipolars and others with mental illness, significant others, teachers, clergy and physicians, and, hopefully, the general public will be touched by Millett's plea for acceptance and support. A kaleidoscope of attitude, anger, futility, and wry humor, <u>What Are You, Nuts? Or: One Of Those People</u> makes a strong--and necessary statement.
