Lisbon: Rocking and Rolling into the Millenium Pt 10
We sail up the Tagus River, to its estuary and the city of Lisbon. It is a beautiful city, with wide boulevards, lush gardens, and magnificent squares filled with statues, fountains and flowers. There are many monuments and historical sites, commemorating its glorious nautical past. There are cathedrals, churches, monasteries and convents, a huge aquarium, and maritime museum, a sports complex, built for Expo 98 as well as museums and galleries. Colorful, tile covered buildings line Narrow cobblestone streets that wind though the picturesque old town. The ten towers of St George's castle keeps watch high above the city and the awesome Monument of Discoveries looks out to sea. As usual I have many pictures, links. Feel free to start a discussion of make a comment. Please join me. Mary Ellen Bradshaw.

Madeira:Rocking and Rolling into the Millenium 9
When I think of Madeira, I think of verdant green and beautiful flowers, a gardener's heaven. Come with me to the beautiful, garden island. Shop in a modern, city that is 500 years old. Take a walk in a flower laden, forest or an orchid garden. Enjoy the panoramic views of mountains and sea. Lounge on a warm sandy beach. Take a ride down the mountain in a wicker sled. Sample the famous Madeira wines in a wine lodge. Visit a facinating wickerwork museum or attend a local fiesta sampling delicious local cuisine and moving to the local music. Go deep sea fishing for Marlin or Tuna. There are many things to do in this beautiful place.
