A Look at the Provinces, Part IX: Prince Edward Island
This is the ninth article in the series. Prince Edward Island is the Island province between North of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Small Island, not the big one, that would be Newfoundland. PEI, as it is abbreviated, is the smallest and least populated province in Canada. It has an area of 5,660 square kilometres and has a population of 129,765 people (Less than Brampton, Ontario). The Capital is Charlottetown, where the Concept of Confederation Started yet it joined latter, 1873.

Join me for a visit to historic Charlottetown PEI. Learn a little history of the great country in which I live. Then it's off to Toronto for some serious Moose Spotting. The " Moose in the city" event not only raised funds for charity, but spawned many other events, like the "great moose auction, Running with the moose, (eat your heart out Spain) and sending moose diplomats to the Sydney Olympics with stops on the way. I have taken many pictures (mainly moose) join in on the fun. ME

Lucy Maud Montgomery was born on November 30,1874 in Prince Edward Island. Raised by strict grandparents, Maud was often lonely. She spent hours writing poetry and short stories. An idea for a book, "Anne of Green Gables, made her one of Canada's most famous writers.
