Will Roszczyk

Nearing the conclusion to a Bachelors degree in English, I am a twenty-one year old writer who aims for a career in professional writing, whether it be reviewing, journalism or reporting. My main interests in terms of writing include film (specifically reviewing, but also analysis and the industry itself), and soccer, and I hope through my writing on Suite 101 I can convey my enthusiasm and knowledge of the two very diverse writing topics.

Having gained the motivation necessary to write professionally through my studies (and through the countless, seemingly endless essays), I have been regularly posting film reviews on the reviewing site Wik Pik, and have begun to write for the university cultural magazine The Edge here at Southampton University. Soccer-wise, a week's work experience at Oxford United Football Club, assisting in the production of a matchday programme for spectators, started a desire in me to write about my favourite sport.

My main focus will be action films, as well as classic movies. In terms of soccer, I will endeavour to write thoughtful pieces on the state of English soccer, specifically in terms of the gulfs in class and expenditure throughout the sport. I welcome comments, whether they be critical or supportive; I know I'm not a professional writer yet, but it's an occupation I aspire to undertake, and you have to learn somwhere and somehow! I only hope I can bring interesting ideas and views to a public consensus.
