When I teach writing classes at a local college, I always begin each session by writing the following on the white board:

"If the desire to write is not followed by the act of writing, then the desire is not to write."

It's very Zen, I know but it's also a very powerful statement to embrace in all aspects of your life, not just writing.

In any event, I write because I desire to write.

I am a freelance writer located in Southern New Hampshire. I write features for our area newspaper (circ 35K) and have had a column that ran for 1.5 years. I have been published in local magazines and a few e-zines. I have also blogged for the Hillary New Hampshire campaign.

I live with my husband, 6 (yes you read that right, 6) children, and 3 dogs. When I need to pay the bills I work as an Instructional Designer when I want to be happy I write.
