Victoria Robinson, Victoria Robinson

Victoria Robinson is from Chester, a Roman city in the North West of England. She has a strong interest in travel, art, literature and alternative spirituality and healing. Reading has been a lifelong love and she gained an excellent degree in English Literature from the University of Cardiff, one of the top five courses in the country at the time. She takes regular writing classes and still reads widely as a hobby, especially British, Russian and Japanese literature, and is particularly fond of love stories.

During her three years teaching English in a remote fishing village in Japan, she wrote book reviews for a local English language publication and organised cultural events, including hosting the local festival one year. She has travelled widely, both solo and in groups. Her most memorable destinations include a home stay in Moscow with a wickedly funny elderly Russian lady and an eye-opening trip to Iran, where she was blown away by the friendliness of the locals, particularly when several locals thanked her group for visiting a war memorial. She is now on the other side of the fence, having spent the last few years working in the local leisure and tourism industry, assisting visitors to her beautiful home city. Currently, she is employed by Chester Zoo and still enjoys visiting art galleries and museums across the UK and in Europe.

In Japan Victoria spent two years studying Green Tea Ceremony, a form of Buddhist meditation involving ritualised tea making. She also befriended several Zen Monks and attended various ceremonies with them. Since 2003 she has practised Reiki healing and recently took her Mastership. For the past six years she has been a member of a local Shamanic Women’s group, which is in the Native American tradition. She has tried many forms of alternative healing and has attended personal development seminars in the UK, Japan and US.
