I worked at daily newspapers in the features and sports departments for 20 years, working in Alliance and Scottsbluff, Neb.; Sterling, Ill., and Waukesha and Janesville, Wis. I've been a full-time freelance sports writer since August 2003, writing for newspapers, several magazines including Collegiate Baseball, BadgerNation, Inside Wisconsin Sports, Blitz, Wisconsin Sports Weekly and Wisconsin Trails. I've also done several book reviews and other articles for MinorLeagueNews.com.

I've also had four books published since 2002: "40+ Years of Packer-Viking Rivalry," "Great Moments in Wisconsin Sports," "Baseball in Beertown: America's Pastime in Milwaukee" and "Blood, Sweat and Cheers: Great Football Rivalries of the Big Ten."

I have covered team and recreational sports at the high school, junior college, college and professional levels, including stories about a rodeo clown, Major League umpire and NFL referee. I've covered the Green Bay Packers, NCAA basketball tourney, minor league baseball and tons of college and high school sporing events.

I'm an all-around sports nut, but my favorite ones to watch and write about are football and baseball.
