Combining a love of sports with a passion for the medical field, I have spent over twenty years working with college athletes as a Certified Athletic Trainer specializing in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. Along with working alongside injured athletes, I spend much of my time in the classroom and clinical setting teaching and preparing students for careers as allied health professionals and professionals working in the field of Kinesiology.

I completed my doctorate in Higher Education with an emphasis in Health Care Education in 1999. My doctoral research led to a book published by Human Kinetics titled "Management of Bloodborne Infections in Sport" (1997). I am Certified as an Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers' Association's Board of Certification (1985). My research has also focused on youth injury prevention and managing stress. I have also enjoyed teaching coaches how to better protect and treat their athletes through conference presentations. and workshops.

As a professor in Kinesiology, I have a wide range of specialty areas including prevention and treatment of athletic injuries, upper and lower extremity assessment, rehabilitation of injuries, movement anatomy, and ethics in health care. My goal is to continue to share and teach what I have learned in the classroom, clinical setting, and through writing.
