A love affair with travel began at the age of seven when my great aunt gave me a copy of the Reader's Digest Book of World Travel. The two pictures that impressed me most were those of Macchu Picchu, which I have yet to visit, and floating markets in Thailand - the subject of one of the very first travel articles that I had published.

My first departure from European shores was to The Gambia - a last minute package holiday that we booked and then went home to look in an atlas to see where it was that we were going. Since then I have traveled to over 30 countries, somewhere along the way migrating from the UK to Australia. I love it all - food, culture, natural history (especially the underwater world) and of course the people.

I have had articles and photos published in Golden Falcon (Gulf Air), Bahrain Gateway, Herald Sun (Australia), Inns & Retreats (USA) and I am a correspondent for Northstar Travel Media (Weissmann Reports, USA). A new web project www.sydneyhotelsandtours.com is now underway.
