Todd von Kampen

Todd von Kampen, 45, was a newspaper reporter and editorial writer for 25 years, most recently at the Omaha World-Herald from 1999 to 2009. A specialist in public affairs, local and regional history, music and religion, his work also has appeared in the Des Moines Register; the Keith County News in his hometown of Ogallala, Neb.; the Scottsbluff (Neb.) Star-Herald; and the North Platte (Neb.) Telegraph. He graduated with high distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1986, majoring in news-editorial and music and minoring in political science.

Todd, a resident of Omaha since 1997, wrote about his 1998 conversion from The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod to the Catholic Church in Tim Drake's There We Stood, Here We Stand: 11 Lutherans Rediscover Their Catholic Roots (1stBooks Library) and the second edition of Marcus Grodi's Journeys Home (Coming Home Resources). He was a guest on EWTN's The Journey Home, hosted by Mr. Grodi, in April 2001. Todd and his wife, Joan, have four children.
