Melissa Thayer

Contributing Writer

Melissa is a single mother who has learned the hard way how to parent well. She is a gregarious, though pensive, extroverted introvert. She has worked as a theatre actor and been involved with the stage in varying ways for twenty-five years. She is a former business owner and currently working the joyful world of retail as well as writing.

She scratches away in her myriad of notebooks daily. She has written poetry for as long as she has been able to read and began her first historical novel on the Greek and Persian Wars when she was 12. She tinkers with screenplays, short stories, travel, and every other form of writing. She has even written on grains of rice, an old Turkish art form, though people do it in malls now. She is also an avid songwriter, musician, and vocalist. Her travels have brought her to exciting places around the world. She enjoys other cultures, and has studied several different languages on her own. Over her continuous educational life, which has included being homeschooled in Montana by her grandfather, walking the halls of Harvard, and Shasta College in California, she has studied various histories, archaeology, English, film, theatre, opera, literature, politics, economics, and any other subjects that pique her interest. She believes in integrity, excellence, getting to the root of an issue, and not merely parroting what others think or say.

When she is not writing, she enjoys cooking, snowboarding, and sleeping.
