Timothy Dzurilla - Profile

Timothy Dzurilla, Anna Jolley

Dzurilla has been writing about food and food culture for 7 years for various on and off line newspapers.

Earning a Master's in Community Development and City Planning in 2006, Dzurilla's appetite for knowledge of the use of new information technologies in local and international development placed him in southern Mexico researching the communications strategies of the Zapatista insurgency. Currently studying in Colombia current conflicts and urban development, his appetite has not abated.

Past projects include an examination of ecotourism in the remote jungles of Costa Rica, sustainable resource development in the UK, and media empowerment of inner-city youth in New England.

In all of these locations, Dzurilla was hungry, and constantly stayed open and curious to new foods and how these connected to culture, community, and development.
