Having spent much of the last seven years ‘on the road’, first as an independent traveller, and then as a professional tour leader/guide for one of Europe’s leading adventure travel specialists ,Tariq has recently returned to the UK to take a break from touring and to focus on writing about those places he knows and loves most. In his career he has specialised in leading overland tours throughout the Middle East, in particular Syria, Jordan, and Egypt (his second home), South America, and more recently Tibet.
