I am a transplanted Yankee, living in the West.I traded biting cold, snow, blistering heat and humidity to live in a place where it does get hot, but at least it's a DRY heat.
I spent three years in the Army. I went to Korea. Now, there's a place that is in dire need of a sense of humor and indoor plumbing. I thought of making the military my career, never having to cook again was an attractive enticement. Then they informed me I would have to stay in Kansas. Well, after being in Kansas I understand why Dorothy took a little trip to Oz. She was BORED! So, I left and moved to Las Vegas.
I love Las Vegas. I can travel the world in just two miles. Of course I do struggle with the obvious question, why does someone who loves the beach move to the desert? I still don't know the answer, but part of it could be barbecuing in December and paying $6.99 for a prime rib dinner.
I manage a restaurant for a big corporation. It's a living. So, that is the nickel tour and by the way, in case you are wondering, not everyone in Las Vegas is a dealer or a showgirl. In fact for a town that has been labeled sin city, Las Vegas has more churches per capita than any other U.S. city. Oh, well you can't have everything, it is still a nice place to live.
Wait, forget I said that. Don't move here. NO water, terrible traffic congestion, smog. STAY OUT! Just come visit, gamble a bit, have fun and GO HOME. Thank you.
