After spending many years in a typical job, and enjoyng writing only as a hobby, or to highlight community groups to which I belonged, I am now enjoying a career as both a journalist, and photographer. My credits include working for a one county weekly, and then going on to publish my own newspaper for the same county as a winning competitor. Currently, I am a Coordinator for a county section in a two county, newspaper, The Telegram (www.thetelegramnews.com). A passion for promoting the beautiful area of Appalachian Ohio where we live, and covering local news has provided me with an incredibly satisfying career. I am also currently writing for Associated Content, and providing services through ifreelance.com, scriptlance.com, and Elance.com. My wonderful husband, Bobby, and amazing daughter, Brea, are always so supportive, and understanding of the time I spent working my regular job, and the time I am now spending developing a successful freelance career, and have become quite accomplished photographers in their own right. Many of the articles I will write for Suite 101, will focus on the modern woman, and the world around her. Topics such as business ownership, balancing family and work, hobbies, family, and women only vacations, and planning parties, and celebrations creatively, on a tight schedule. Strong female role models are very important for both the career woman, and today's teenagers. I find inspiration in my own roll models: my accomplished Mother, Roberta Bunting, incredible Mother-in-Law, Clara Jane Dodrill, and trail breaking business woman, Carol Dodrill. My father, Bob Bunting inspired a true view of the world, and the creative encouragement from my youth, which I still utilize, and draw upon today. |
