Tammy McKillip

Tammy McKillip is a writer/photographer living and working in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. A graduate of Columbia University's writing program, she was the News and Features Editor of Youthline-USA, a weekly newspaper, daily Web site and monthly magazine for 8-12 year-olds, until she had the first of her two children in 2001. Since that time, she has worked as a regular correspondent to many print and online publications, including The Asbury Park Press, where she wrote the weekly 'Critters' column for four years. She is currently a freelance reporter/photograper for The Independent, a Greater Media Newspaper, Courier News and The Observer, an NJN publication.Her articles have also been featured in magazines, including, most recently, the May, 2008 issue of Garden State Town & Country Living. She has written many articles for eHow.com, BabyZone.com and ParentZone.com, and in her spare time, she writes grant proposals for non-profit organizations. At Columbia, she was the Executive Editor and Web Master of Quarto, the literary journal for Columbia University's School of General Studies, and her poetry and fiction have been published in The Belmont Literary Journal and The Columbia Review.In addition to writing, McKillip also enjoys performing and was a professional singer/actress/musician in NYC for over 20 years. She loves her family and pets, organic gardening and preaching environmental sustainability.
