I am a graduate in engineering but chose to work in the financial industry. I worked for five years as an asst. manager in a scheduled commercial bank in India, where I interacted with customers, selling them mutual funds and other financial products and advising them on personal financial matters.
This experience has helped me tremendously to understand the needs of the lay man. He doesn't need to learn all the fancy acronyms or know the difference between ROI and ROE. What he actually needs is an understanding of the basic concepts.
When I left the banking field to pursue my passion, writing, my aim was to write concise and easy to understand articles on the basics of investment, finance and retirement. That is exactly what I am doing nowadays.. and I am loving every minute of it.
