Susan Caplan has been an environmental educator for the Massachusetts Audubon Society for over eleven years. She teaches children ages three to fourteen, both working on site at their schools as well as at the wildlife sanctuary where she is based. Susan also works extensively with homeschooled children.

Each year, she creates over a hundred lesson plans for Moose Hill Day Camp instructors . These plans help to instill in children a curiosity about local plants, animals, and ecosystems and their connection to the world through hands-on activities, non-competitive games, and outdoor exploration.

Throughout the year she teaches art, writing, and photography classes that encourage children to observe the natural world and express their feelings about nature through the creative arts. She is the Feature Writer for Suite101.com Kid's Crafts.

Susan is a member of the Massachusetts Environmental Educators Society (MEES) for whom she regularly teaches workshops at their yearly conference.
