Brian Baker

Hi all, My name is Brian Baker and I live in Manchester, England though I was born almost 65 years ago in Liverpool, 30-odd miles down the road.

Since I was 17, I've worked in journalism on a whole range of newspapers, from local weeklies to a national daily. For the past 18 years I've been working as a news sub-editor on the Liverpool Daily Post, my home town morning paper. I've also been lucky enough to have a couple of books published.

My interests include all aspects of the paranormal, history, particularly military history, sport, notably football (of the round ball variety) and cricket. I am also a voracious reader. If there's nothing else available, I'll read the back of a cornflakes packet.

I'm one of those incredibly lucky people who love their job and although I'm due to retire in May, I'm hoping the firm will let me stay on. In the meantime, I have just been accepted as a contributory writer by Suite101 and have produced my first three articles
