I've always thought of myself as a writer. I studied English Literature at Royal Holloway and completed the first year of a Writing and Publishing degree prior to that. I worked as a volunteer story gatherer for the BBC People's War Project in 2005. Now I'm a contributing writer for Suite101. I'm a keen traveller too. In 2005 I began a trip that lasted 15 months and took me to Russia, Japan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and eventually to Australia. I did it alone and I didn't fly until I reached Bali and couldn't find a boat to take me to Australia. I lived and worked in Brisbane for a several months and then travelled for a couple more before flying home, tired but suntanned. During this time I filled up six notebooks of journal entries. In 2007 I returned to Japan to work as an English teacher in Osaka. When the company went bankrupt I returned to London where I worked for the Buddhist Society editing their magazine. Now I'm living and working in Hong Kong as a court editor Stuart |
