Elizabeth Loveland is a freelance writer, editor, and nature photographer. She received a degree in anthropology from Oberlin College and worked in social services for several years.

The primary focuses of her writing are gardening, nature, botany, sustainable agriculture, and food security, with secondary focuses on subjects such as photography, travel, complementary medicine, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), and layman's guides to economic topics.

She has been gardening since she was a child. She is mostly self-taught on the subjects of gardening, nature, and botany, and has supplemented her personal experiences and reading by attending lectures, field trips, classes, and workshops. She has taught workshops on gardening in cities, container gardening, and creating wildlife habitats within gardens

In her spare time, she solves crossword puzzles, cooks vegetarian food, watches films, spends time outdoors, and volunteers tutoring ESL students. She currently lives in metropolitan Boston in New England, USA, where she and her cat try to live as sustainably as they can. She has lived in Canada, Europe, and other regions of the United States.

She is available for garden coaching within metro Boston.
