Chris Says Stay Gardening, Chuck Eirschele

Chris Writes about Gardening - The How-to, Make-believe and True-life Stories

Chris' mantra, "stay gardening" began more than 30 years ago. Back then planting terrariums and growing coleus in coffee cans was the cool thing to do.

Today, Chris pots her gardens in zone 5 of south central Ohio. Along side her husband, they share their home with a collection of tropical plants and their beloved Dachshund. Chris' professional memberships include the Garden Writers Association and Perennial Plant Association.

Master Gardener to Garden Writer

When Chris was a Milwaukee County Extension Master Gardener, she advocated growing plants in containers and using enabling techniques. In those days, Chris would be found speaking to the Women’s Health Initiative, senior and veteran groups and at a demonstration garden sponsored by a local television station.

Chris pursued a horticultural education over many years. In between it all, she worked as a private gardener for a hosta enthusiast and selling plants at local garden centers.

Her past memberships included Southeastern Wisconsin Master Gardeners, Incorporated, for a time as Program Coordinator. Pursuing her love of Hemerocallis, Chris belonged to the Daylily Society of Southeastern Wisconsin then the Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society, in Ohio.
