Steve Sagarra is a freelance writer, journalist and historian from St. Louis, MO. A graduate of the University of Missouri, he holds a Bachelor and Master of Arts in history. With particular interest in World War Two and the post-war era, he has contributed to several encyclopedic projects as well as certain scholarly journals and websites, including the St. Louis Virtual City Project, Encyclopedia of World History, Encyclopedia of U.S. Indian Policy and Law and Encyclopedia of the Industrial Revolution in World History.

As an editorial writer for a local community newspaper group, Newsmagazine Network, he has contributed content on such topics as socio-economic issues, local and national politics and international relations; a few pieces may also be found at Opinion Editorials, or his personal blog, Sassafras Gazette. His first work of fiction, a post-apocalyptic story titled "Provident Wind," was published in the February 2006 issue of Sacred Twilight Magazine; his poetry has also appeared in Skyline Magazine and The Storyteller.

Over the years, he has held a colorful variety of jobs – dish dog, delivery driver, substitute teacher, archeology technician and bartender. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies, sporting events, the company of his dogs and playing golf.
