I am a professional sports editor/writer/photographer dealing mainly with amateur sports. I have worked for the same newspapers for the past 24 years and have built a reputation as honest, caring and knowledgeable in my field.

As the sole person covering sports for the newspapers (Spruce Grove Examiner and Stony Plain Reporter) that publish twice weekly, I get a taste of writing about everything from archery to wrestling.

I have also been a freelance writer for Inside Golf magazine and website and in the past have freelanced both stories and photography for Alberta Hockey Now newspaper.

The strength of my writing lays in the fact it's like me having a conversation with my readers - I don't pretend to know everything. I simply tell facts in a straightforward manner that lets the reader 'view' the action without having been there.

Also, my writings deal with issues around sports - not about reporting what you may have already seen, or heard, dozens of times about trades, hirings and firings. Rather, I look into what's going on in the world of big-business sport and offer opinions that vary from what other professional writers offer.

My passions in sport are golf and baseball in particular, but as I said I do have a little knowledge about a whole lot of different things, which can lead to some interesting opinions from time to time.
