I’m a medical biochemist by qualification. As a graduate student, research was my primary focus and it led me and my team mates working on a paper titled “Antioxidants and Lipid Peroxidation Status in Diabetic Patients with and without Complications”. This is published in March 2009 edition of the Archives of Iranian Medicine and indexed in PubMed/Medline.

My flair for writing and communication combined with my scientific background made a career in healthcare communications ideal. My profession demanded the perfect amalgamation of the knowledge of science and the business of brands, making the experience of using my knowledge with a different set of skills very enriching. My experience in the healthcare industry spanned Advertising and Public Relations, wherein I had the opportunity to work with global pharmaceutical companies like GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Novartis, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Nicholas Piramal and Wockhardt. During my tenure, I managed critical brand portfolios like woman's health, involving breast cancer, maternal health, benign gynecological disorders and devised communications for the brands Arimidex, Zolodex, Faslodex, Partocin and Prostodin. I also managed portfolios like cardiovascular, dermatology, and diabetes and worked on communication platforms for global brands like, Ramace, Seloken-XL, Elidel, vaccines- Twinrix, Havrix and Fluarix to name a few.

Being a part of the public relations team for global companies required that presentation be perfect, whether oral or written. This turned out to be an excellent opportunity to ghost write technical articles for top executives, rekindling my interest in research and writing.

I am newly married and have recently moved to the UK. I’ve enjoyed every moment of exploring a new country with my husband. I had hoped to have my beloved dog Bruno, share these experiences but recently lost him to kidney failure. He was my friend for 14 years and inspired me to write a few articles on pet health as well. When I am not writing, I am mostly experimenting with different ingredients in the kitchen, travelling or solving crosswords and puzzles.
