Jesse WhiteCrow spent three years walking a zig-zag line up, down and across the United States, from the East Coast to the West. He now is writing the book.
I am a writer and photographer by trade and by pleasure. My journalism career started several years ago. First, an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Next, freelancing for a slew of newspapers and magazines, taking assignments as a writer and as a photojournalist, publishing work from four continents. I've been an assistant sports editor on a newspaper staff, as well as the photo editor of a Spanish/English monthly. Publishing has included appearances and features in pubs such as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Sports Illustrated, The Times of India, ESPN the Magazine, the Associated Press, St. Louis Magazine, the San Antonio Express-News, Missouri Life Magazine... I also work as a corporate writer/photographer, and as a wedding, art and travel photographer with my wife's business -- Benton Park Photo Co. -- among other things. To tie this up, before I rambabble into tales of a four-year stint as a Korean linguist in the U.S. Army , or the down-dirty of world travels, or touring and living for a summer in my Smurfy-blue 1973 Volkswagen bus named Boio... I like to keep life fresh with ever-growing ideas and activities. At Suite101 that has included writing on bike commuting, travel, journalism -- and, of course, travel literature and travel writing. My other online ventures... Environmental blogger for Green Options Media Editor/blogger of From Flyover Land ("Essays on Travel & Life") Photographer, with work for sale at Boio Blue (@ Etsy.com) |
