I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mother of 6 children. I can't easily write about myself without writing about my family, as my family is my "work" and my love and my passion. As homeschoolers, we practice what is commonly called "unschooling" which simply means that we do not use a packaged curriculum, but rather we create the curriculum as we go, and utilize opportunities from life for learning. My family really enjoys finding community activities that we can help with and, the kids like to do fundraising and volunteer in anti-drug campaigns. Most of the children have acting experience, including a music video, several commercials, and other work of that sort. I've been happily married for 14 years. (Well, okay, the first 4 years were a bit tough, but we've been really happy the past 10 years.) My husband is brilliant. He's writing a physics book for children, he is teaching me trigonometry, and he got a perfect score on the math portion of his SAT. I just adore him. He's a computer Project Manager, and he volunteers his technical services to worthy causes as often as he can. My hobbies include web design, reading classical literature, learning Esperanto, and helping my community through volunteer work. |
