Recent Blog PostMy Week in Television: 13/04/09 – 18/04/09
A rundown of the TV shows I watched and wrote about this week.
Steven Cookson is a writer and attempted journalist based in Chester, that Hollyoaks place in North-West of England. He started writing on a freelance basis in 2005 and in 2008 he graduated from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Journalism. Although he trained primarily as a news journalist he now mainly writes reviews and entertainment articles, one of which won him an award for Entertainment Writer of the Year at the UCLan Media awards in 2008. Steven is a self-confessed addict of all things entertainment (TV, film, music, video games, books, etc) and is on a personal quest to find the best story ever written in any of these mediums. He also finds writing about himself in the third person like this to be a somewhat jarring experience and like apparently everyone else in the world has probably started to write a novel which he bangs on about all the time. As the British and Australian TV Writer on here he watches a shocking amount of television (and shocking is the right word for some of it) but usually ends up tuning into repeats of QI and Top Gear on Dave. You've probably clicked on this profile after reading one of his articles and thought "what idiot wrote this?" only to discover there's nothing of interest and that he seems like a boring person who looks like a fat Daniel Bedingfield. It's amazing you managed to make it this far, you should be ashamed of yourself. During his short and largely uneventful time as a writer and journalist Steven has contributed articles to many publications including The Press and Journal, Pluto (the UCLan student newspaper), The Chester Chronicle, The Chester Standard, The Blackpool Gazette, realbuzz.com, lep.co.uk and Freeq magazine, but you've probably not heard of any of them. |
