Tristania's passion for literature, history and the arts has been central to her life for as long as she can remember, starting with reading Enid Blyton and Monica Dickens by torchlight under the bedclothes.

Her first degree, BA (Hons) English from Queen Mary College, University of London, introduced her to the joys of 19th Century English Literature. This enthusiasm led her to Keele University where she achieved an MA in Victorian Studies, having completed research on the portrayal of madness in Victorian Literature and a thesis on the short stories of Elizabeth Gaskell.

She is a member of the Gaskell, Hardy and Dickens societies of Great Britain and looks forward to having time to study for a PhD. Her favourite authors include, although not exhaustively, Charles Dickens, Elizabeth Gaskell, Wilkie Collins, Thomas Hardy, George Eliot, Anthony Trollope and Graham Greene.

The history, legends and geography of Cornwall are also of great interest to her and she enjoys spending time in this beautiful, mysterious county as well as travelling around Scotland with her husband and young son.

Tristania also adores drinking champagne, eating Indian food and gardening but hasn't yet tried to do all three at the same time…
