Schatze Rasmussen - Profile

I am in my early 30's and have two young boys and a wonderful husband who, bless his big heart, said I could take a leave of absence from my current job as a speech/language therapist in our local school district. My life was getting crazy and for others who have children and work, you know what that means! We have decided that being a full-time mommy takes presidence right now.

I hold a bachelors degree and masters degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (Go Big Red!). I have been spending alot of time at sites on the internet that deal with frugality, investing, home-business information (my husband is a computer consultant part-time and works out of our basement office as well as working as an Information Systems guy at our local hospital full-time) and gardening. I religiously (well, almost religiously) check out the following web sites daily: www.hgtv.com, www.cnn.com, www.fool.com, www.stretcher.com, www.landsend.com (for their clearance items), www.about.com and of course www.suite101.com. I enjoy everything from participating in our church activities to our chapter of Optimists International, going to the farmer's markets to sewing clothes for my family, reading bedtime stories to hanging diapers on the line, advocating for my students and families at school to crafting and getting ideas for new projects (from watching HGTV).

My goal in life is to help others, to live comfortably and serenely, to invest wisely and take time to smell all the roses I can. Most people usually describe me as "nice" or "cute". Sometimes they even call me smart!! I think I'm pretty "normal" in most respects, whatever "normal" is. I hope you enjoy my contributions to this site and learn the things you need!
