A wonderful benefit of becoming a counsellor is the self-learning. Becoming a counsellor is an enjoyable journey of self discovery. An understanding of counselling principles provides me with a clear understanding of myself, as well as those around me.
As a counsellor I understand why people feel, think and behave as they do. I am be able to apply strategies in my own life so that I am happier, healthier, and more able to face life’s challenges.
My work has involved therapy to control behaviours of young children who could not deal with past issues. I have worked with these children to help control their behaviour and try to get them back in to main stream schools.
I have written articles for counselling magazines and on written for a number of websites. I have done a number of NVQ’s and Diplomas and I am currently in the middle of a degree.
