Samuel Turner is an encore careerist. He is pleased following his heart song and for the first time seriously pursing a writing career. A native Virginian, he has traveled and lived in Europe, California and presently putting down roots in Oregon.

Born in the shadow of the American Civil War, he is an amateur historian and has always been intrigued and excited about 19th century American History. He currently holds a B.S. in Social Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. He considers himself fortunate that he holds a concentration in Ethnic Studies. He has written essays on 20th century social stratification, symbolism in society, Native American issues and spirituality, women’s and ethnic group histories and issues.

Wanting to fully experience life, he is finishing an additional AAS degree in Gerontology for Portland Community College, Portland, Oregon and looks forward to recording the stories and times of the elderly in the Portland Metro area.

Samuel is an eclectic spiritualist of over 15 years and celebrates diversity in religion, ceremony and ritual. His own experiences revolve around Catholicism, Buddhism, Native American Spirituality and Earth Path Religions.
