Romantic and quiet times are accentuated by the quiet clip clop of horse-drawn carriages early in the morning. Step back to a different place and time on Mackinac Island.
Sallie received a B.A. in Elementary Education from the Honors College of Michigan State University and completed part of an M.A. in Teaching before leaving the classroom after eight years. She has taught in a variety of school settings (private, Christian and charter) and was on the first staff of both a private school and a charter school. After leaving the classroom, she continued to work in the field of education for a charter school management company, developing curriculum, writing teacher training materials, planning teacher training conferences, creating a teacher leadership team, and writing extensively for the Vice President of Education as well as other senior level management. Sallie also worked for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, a student ministry on college campuses throughout the United States. She mentored students, led Bible studies, spoke at conferences, and pioneered ministry in sororities. Currently Sallie works with her husband in their graphic design and communications business, Arts & Letters, Inc. Sallie's work has appeared in publications such as the Grand Rapids Press, Christian Home and School, ParentLife, The Standard, and Student Leadership Journal.
