Carol Rzadkiewicz earned her BA then MA in English at the State University of West Georgia. Following a career in journalism, both in the private sector and the United States Navy, she entered the field of education and has been teaching for almost seventeen years, the last five as an instructor for the University of Phoenix at the local campus in Lafayette, Louisiana, as well as for the university’s worldwide online program.

Carol is also a freelance writer, editorial consultant, and author, whose work has appeared in a variety of journals, magazines, and other publications, including Santa Fe Writer’s Project Literary Journal, Daily Advertiser, Toasted Cheese, Zine5, Helium, Associated Content, TheEclectic, The New Review, The Sun, and South Lit; and Brown Paper Publishing serialized her collection of short stories, The Second Coming and Other Stories, in Predicate Literary Journal in 2008.

She also has two published novels to her credit: Mustang Summer, which was released in January 2008; and Objects Are Closer Than They Appear, which is based upon her short story of the same title and was first released by ebooks.UK in August 2008 in electronic format and then again in August 2009 in hardcopy by Woodlord Publishing, also of the United Kingdom. In addition, her latest novel, Separate but Equal, was a quarter-finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest and, if all goes according to plan, will be published in early 2010.
