Currently, Stella is a Contributing Writer for Suite101, a freelance writer for children's magazines, and a volunteer reporter/writer for her church. She has been published in Highlights for Children Magazine and Pack-o-Fun Magazine.
Stella has worked as a Primary/Elementary Teacher for over eighteen years, continuing as a substitute teacher. Throughout her teaching career, she has worked with many students with special needs, including speech impairment, hearing impairment, allergies, learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
In addition to her university education, Stella has also completed two courses at The Institute of Children's Literature®, the Basic writing course and the Advanced writing course. She is currently enrolled in an Associate in Theology program.
Stella has many interests, which include writing, making crafts, creating in the kitchen, hiking, birding, cross-country skiing, volunteering for church activities and participating in Bible studies.
All of her life, Stella has experienced digestive problems and sensitivities to many things. This has resulted in many years of researching how digestion works, allergies and intolerances, and what makes an individual sensitive to certain things. It also means that she spends a lot of time in her kitchen, creating allergen-free and nutritious recipes.
