Roxie Hebson

Writing for the Eureka Times-Standard was a great experience for me. Covering performing arts events was definitely a labor of love. From the annual Shakespeare in the Park performance to a lesson in the Argentine Tango, there was plenty of spice in my life. I’ll never forget the intimate experience of watching the local dance/theater troupe Synapsis performing “Tsirkus”, which featured indoor aerialists, stilt walkers and even a kazoo ensemble. I also had the opportunity to preview and/or review many fine events as well. Some highlights include the Trey Anastasio concert, Melvin seals concert and the Redwoods Jazz Festival. I interviewed many prominent classical musicians as well, including the Raphael Trio and pianist, Anton Nel. I am looking forward to continuing to write about performing arts as well as expanding to new areas such as family issues and spirituality.
