Ronnie Arnold is a 24-year veteran of public education, the last eight of which have been spent in administration. He holds a BA in English and MA in Communication Arts from the University of West Florida. He credits his graduate experience at UWF under Dr. Stuart Towns for rekindling his love of writing.
While a graduate student, Arnold had papers accepted in two consecutive years by the University of Mississippi's Graduate Conference on Southern History. For his MA thesis, Arnold found a unique topic that melded three of his main areas of interest: politics, Southern history, and the media. The result was "Huey Long: Propagandist, Newspaper Publisher, Governor, and Senator."
Of particular historical interest to Arnold is the Civil Rights Movement and corresponding media coverage. Born in 1959 and moving frequently as part of a military family, he was not quite old enough to grasp the significance of society's upheavals throughout the decade of the 1960's. Other writing interests include the sports and entertainment fields.
