My background is both academic and commercial. I have a bachelor's degree in history and politics, plus a master's in marketing. I have some fifteen years' experience as a marketing copywriter, working for blue chip clients and agencies in both B2B and B2C sectors. My work has won several awards, ranging from D&AD to the pan-European 3M business awards and a Gold at The Irish Times Marketing Awards.

For some years now, however, my writing has taken a much broader perspective. I pen a column on soccer themes in a British regional newspaper, The Daily Post. I write features on aspects of British life and culture in topical magazines, the North West being a speciality. I have a 'Rob's Rants' column in the Didsbury magazine/website. Latterly, I have also added ghostwriting to my portfolio, and I've co-written a book on diet/lifestyle/health issues - a sort of Harvey Diamond with attitude! My current project here is an autobiography of a former sportsman who sadly has suffered serious disability through a brain tumour. I'll be targeting one or two well-known soccer players in future.

My interests are varied, indeed catholic. Sports, history, marketing, 21st century culture, health, diet, lifestyle - these are all grist to my mill.
