Roberta Laurie won her first writing competition when she was 17, and she's been writing ever since. She is a freelance writer and editor who has seen her work published in several anthologies and numerous magazines including Enjoy Gardening, WestWord, On Spec and Legacy. Roberta teaches creative writing and is hard at work on her first full-length book about the hardships and challenges facing the women of Malawi, Africa. Roberta recently co-founded a small independent press, Prairie Dog Publishing, dedicated to raising awareness about societal injustices, environmental exploitation and human suffering with the goal of provoking thought into action. Roberta's other interests include photography, the martial arts, yoga, reading and environmental protection.
