Ricardo F. P. Silva - Profile

Ricardo moved to Vancouver, Canada from Belo Horizonte, a city in Brazil [http://brazil-travel.suite101.com/article.cfm/brazil_flights] found between Rio, São Paulo and the country’s capital, Brasília. He joined Suite101 as its Database Administrator in November 2007.

Ricardo has 13 years experience providing database installation, support, analysis, migration and data recovery for companies in a variety of industries including telecommunications, engineering, medical services, software and IT services. He also has significant database design, architecture and management skills, a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Masters Degree in Database Administration.

In Brazil, he worked with some of the country’s biggest companies in his country like BMS (Arcellor Mittal group), CONTAX and IBM. At Suite101, Richardo will focus on optimizing and scaling the company’s database, with the aim of improving overall performance.

As Ricardo is new to Canada and moved here only recently with his wife and two children, he currently spends his down-time learning about Canadian culture, visiting the amazing sights of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland and checking out our winter sports[http://wintersport.suite101.com/], which are new and fascinating to him. He had never seen snow [http://physics.suite101.com/article.cfm/winter_snow_facts] until his arrival in Vancouver, and so is looking forward to visiting the city’s white-peaked mountains this winter.
