My background includes an M.A. in English and a B.A. in Art History. I have a strong background in writing and teaching, and have published many short pieces on travel and business. I pursue several parallel interests, including photography, architectural history, land conservation, and local history. I am quite well-read on topics of nature, American literature, comparative literature, history, art, and geography.
Within the last 5 years I have done interpretive and step-on guide work as well as two seasons as a Park Ranger for the National Park Service, during which time I developed my own tour material based on historical research.
As a sideline, I am developing a series of customized itineraries (print format) for visitors to Vermont who want to get off the beaten track and truly learn about the state and its culture and history.
