Rebecca M. Ford is a multimedia journalist living in Los Angeles, CA. A freelancer and contributing editor for Metromix, Rebecca enjoys writing about television, film, pop culture, politics, and Los Angeles.
Rebecca was born in Santa Monica, CA, but moved up to the San Francisco area at the age of six. She was an avid ice skater throughout high school. She attended UC Santa Barbara, and received a B.A. in visual communication from Hawaii Pacific University in 2006.
Because of her passion for writing and reporting, Rebecca decided to pursue a career in journalism. She received her M.A. in print journalism from USC’s Annenberg School of Communication on May 16, 2008.
Rebecca has lived and worked in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Hawaii and Los Angeles. She has had work published in The Los Angeles Times- The GUIDE, The Huffington Post, The Honolulu Weekly, Ms. Magazine, East West Magazine, Metromix Los Angeles and Los Angeles Magazine, among others.
She recently completed a ten-week fellowship called News 21, in which she reported on Campaign ‘08 for the online publication. Only ten students were selected from each of the top five journalism schools throughout the country. USC's fellows focused their reporting on the Southwest.
A fan of art, film and the Oakland A’s, Rebecca currently lives in Los Angeles with her boyfriend and two cats. She blogs at www.Rebeccamford.com.
